The Margaret River Golf Club consists of a range of Memberships as outlined below.
The Committee has the power at any time to limit the number of Members in any of the classes specified.
Full Member
A Golf WA affiliated member over the age of 25 who has the right to hold office, vote, propose or second any application for Membership of the Cub. Has the authority to sign in guests to the Club and to play seven days a week unless otherwise determined by the Management Committee. Full Members are eligible to win Club Championship events.
Nine Hole Member
A Golf WA affiliated member who has the right to play 9 holes of golf per day, seven days per week, unless otherwise determined by the Management Committee. Green fees or Golf Australia affiliated visitor competition fees apply for 18 holes or 18 hole competitions. A nine hole member has no voting rights and is not eligible to win Club Championship events
Life Member
A Golf WA affiliated member who has rendered conspicuous service to the Club. Elected by the Management Committee of the Club at a Management Committee Meeting, provided that a two thirds (2/3) majority of those present and voting is achieved. With payment of a fee set by the Management Committee, a Life Member has all the privileges of a Full Member.
A maximum of ten (10) Life Members at any one time is allowed, and no more than two (2) Life Members are to be elected in any one year.
Country Member
A Golf WA affiliated member who has the right to play 24 rounds of golf per year, seven days a week unless otherwise determined by the Management Committee. Must be a member of another Golf Australia affiliated club and have a permanent place of residence more than 150km from Margaret River. Country Members are not eligible to win Club Championships, 36-hole Club events, Captain’s or President’s Trophies.
International Member
A Golf WA affiliated member who has the right to play golf seven days a week unless otherwise determined by the Management Committee. Must be an affiliated member of a golf club outside of Australia and have a permanent place of residence outside of Australia. International Members are not eligible to win Club Championships, 36-hole Club events, Captain’s or President’s Trophies.
Junior Member
A Golf WA affiliated member under (0 – 17) years of age who has the right to play golf seven days a week unless otherwise determined by the Management Committee.
Transitional Member
A Golf WA affiliated member under (18 – 24) years of age who has the right to play golf seven days a week unless otherwise determined by the Management Committee.
Absentee Member
A member who will be absent from the Club for a period of 3 months or more but wishes to retain Golf Australia affiliation.
Social Member
A non playing member who has the right to utilise clubhouse facilities.
